Among the many signs and symbols used by the Church to celebrate its faith, music is of preeminent importance. As sacred song is united to words it forms a necessary or integral part of the solemn liturgy. Yet the function of music is ministerial; it must serve and never dominate. Music should assist the assembled believers to express and share the gift of faith that is within them and to nourish and strengthen their interior commitment of faith.
If you are interested in joining any of our choirs feel free to contact at (323)262-4253.
The distribution of Holy Communion during mass is truly a Ministry. It is the Ministry that takes the sacrament of the body and blood of Christ to the people of God and gives a testimony of faith in the Real presence of Christ, in the action of sharing the Eucharistic food of the sacrifice of Christ. Therefore, the Ministry must be exercised with maximum dignity and reverence.
Men and women, baptized and confirmed Catholics, at least 25 years of age, are eligible for this Ministry. They must be people who sincerely try to live the Gospel message in their individual and communal life. If they are married, must be also by the Church (divorce does not make a person unacceptable to serve as extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion). They shall participate faithfully in the Sunday Eucharist and with the grace of God to live their faith in every aspect of their lives. People younger than 25 years, must individually be recommended by their parish priests to his delegation.
If you are interested in being part of this ministry please contact Isaias and Lucia Cano at (323) 526-4291.
This ministry is to proclaim the Word of God, or rather let God speak to the Eucharistic Assembly through one. When proclaimed, the Word of God comes alive, and the mission of letting it live in you, so you can do it in the whole community. There is an organic connection between the liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
Reading the scriptures, according to tradition, it is not a presidential, but ministerial office. If you are interested in becoming a Lector in our parish, you can contact Martha Hernandez (747)238-3809.
The usher who sincerely smiles is telling the visitor or member of the church: “I fell very happy. What about you?” In the same way, a friendly greeting and a word of welcome, gladden the heart of the person. Just as the farmer prepares the land for planting, the usher prepares the enabling environment that encourages a genuine experience of worship. An usher is a worker of God, a partner of the pastor, and the congregation.
“Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people.” If you are interested in being part of this ministry, please contact Dora and Jesus Franco at (323) 354-4831.
